The goal is simple: stay alive as long as possible, collect gems, and build your total points to unlock everything.
The 6 Challenge Modes Explained
This is what makes Tap Road 2 different from Slope and other runners. Challenge Mode has six twists:
- Gravity Shift: Hold to make the ball float. Tap rhythmically to stay in the middle; don’t hold too long, or you’ll hit the ceiling.
- Double Lane: You control two balls at once. Use wide-angle vision and look between the lanes, not at one ball.
- Blackout: Near-zero visibility. Only a small light around you.
- Orbit Run: The track twists and flips, changing your perspective.
- Ghost Trail: Your ball disappears, and your own trail becomes the obstacle. Greedy moves early come back to hurt you.
- Ultimate: Combines all previous modifiers—the hardest mode.
You unlock them by total score. Gravity Shift is open from the start. Reach 250 points to unlock Double Lane, then Blackout, Orbit Run, Ghost Trail, and Ultimate follow as you keep playing.

Tips to get a high score:
- Don’t panic tap. One obstacle = one tap. Double-tapping makes you bounce back into the obstacle.
- Look ahead, not at the ball. Focus on the top half of the screen to see the next 2-3 blocks.
- Follow the music. Obstacles spawn on the beat, which helps a lot in Blackout and Ghost Trail.
- Collect gems in straight sections only. Don’t risk a run for a gem in a zig-zag.
